They are furry
They come in so many shapes and sizes and colours
They have great names like Chester and Rocky and Mr Puggles
They love us
They protect us
They are always happy to see us
They would rather be where we are (*most dogs)
They make funny snuffle and other noises
They can talk with their paws
They can talk with their ears
They can talk with their tail
They copy us
They forgive us
They trust us
They do funny thigs that make us laugh
They want us to look after them
They are so cute as puppies
They are still so cute as dogs
They love walking, even if it's cold and raining
They come across as self-sufficient but mostly need us to look after them
They would never deliberately hurt us
They keep us warm when its cold, like furry hot water bottles
They can act like humans and show us up for the things we do, like pretending they haven’t done something wrong
They smell doggy
They have soft ears
They clean themselves in funny contorted ways
They get excited when we’re exited
They look sad when we are sad
They are learnable
They are always smelling and exploring things
They are mostly happy or contented
They like sleeping, a lot
They always find the most comfortable place to sleep
They help us know more about God’s character
They don’t mind when we dress them funny, like with collars and coats
They are smart
They make friends easily
Even if there’s something wrong with them, like a missing leg they still look for the best in things and enjoy life
They are always mostly alert, even when they’re sleeping
They are interested in what we are up to
They want to come with us when we go places
They love adventure
They like drinking water
They never forget us
They can travel great distances back to where their home is
They take themselves off on little adventures
They lighten the mood
They are companions for the lonely
They can be like children for the childless
When they’re happy they look like they’re smiling
Patting them makes us feel calmer
