No longer feeling the pain of an offense
Becoming a helpless and passive doormat for the continual sin of another
Excusing or making reasons to explain away an offender's responsibility or free will
Insisting that reconciliation be immediate or return a relationship to its previous form
Excusing, forgetting, permitting repetition of the sinful act against us, or guaranteeing reconciliation with a perpetrator
Closing our eyes to moral atrocity and pretending that it didn’t hurt or that it really doesn’t matter whether or not the offending person is called to account for their offense
