Excusing

Condoning

Pardoning

An emotion

Forgetting

Reconciliation

Minimizing our hurt

Accepting whatever’s happened

Holding grudges or seeking revenge

Ignoring accountability or justice

Forgetting or excusing egregious acts

No longer feeling the pain of an offense

Becoming a helpless and passive doormat for the continual sin of another

Excusing or making reasons to explain away an offender's responsibility or free will

Insisting that reconciliation be immediate or return a relationship to its previous form

Excusing, forgetting, permitting repetition of the sinful act against us, or guaranteeing reconciliation with a perpetrator

Closing our eyes to moral atrocity and pretending that it didn’t hurt or that it really doesn’t matter whether or not the offending person is called to account for their offense
