Diligently harnessing power for the good of others

The royal spirit that the King of heaven displayed

Enduring injury with patience and without resentment

Submission to suffering and to the will of the Father

The most untranslatable of words in the New Testament

God’s enabling strength to do what His Word prescribes

Willingness to share and sacrifice on behalf of others

Boldness, forgiveness, saying sorry, confidence, serving

Patience and laboring to be happy under all circumstances

The inward adorning which God estimates as of great price

The spirit which Christ manifested when suffering injury, when enduring insult and abuse

An unmistakable evidence that we are branches of the true vine and are bearing much fruit

Consulting the feelings of others, and being willing to bear much pain rather than inflict any

A grace that cleaves the stock, and holds it open, that the Word, as a shoot, may be grafted in

To always turn to God for help, for direction, for training and for the sheer joy of this blessing

Willingness to put ourselves in second place and submit ourselves to achieve what is good for others

The preservation of self-control under provocation to give way to anger or to the spirit of retaliation

Staying the angry blow, and being in that state and condition in which we do not feel like doing it at all

A grace which Jesus alone inculcated, and which no ancient philosopher seems to have understood or recommended

An active and deliberate acceptance of undesirable circumstances that are wisely seen as only part of a larger picture

A virtue that draws courage, strength, conviction, and good disposition from God, not from self-centered human resources

A pulling back of our own ego in such a way as to make the other more important or central to what is going on at the moment

An attitude or quality of heart whereby we are willing to accept and submit without resistance to the will and desire of someone else

When we are in a position of strength and power - yet choose not to use that power against our opponent, our critic, our accuser, our persecutor

An ornament, that, like the Israelites' clothes in the wilderness, never waxes old, nor will ever go out of fashion while right reason and religion have any place in the world
